Mango Rice


A delicious mango rice will make you feel something different from biryani, pulao and fried rice. A taste which will make you feel that mango rice is much more better than other rice dishes.


We like to have ripe mango but we are going to make the rice with green mango today.


For a better taste you will have to select a proper mango which will make the rice tasty.



Which one will be better:



Green mango with less sour. 


If it's sour is too much the rice will not be perfect one.


So be sure to select your green mango.


Totapalli mango (totapuri mango) which is well cultivated in India will be perfect one.


In other country one can use an equivalent mango of their country.


But you have to chose a better one from a green one which is going to ripe in few days
.

That will give a better texture and colour.


Everyone like a change of taste so today I come with a rice which will make your mouth feel a new taste.



What to do with mango now:



Don't use any of the fruit or vegetable without proper wash.


Wash the mango with tap water and also with purified water.


Now remove the skin of the mango.


Why it is to be done.


You will get hard chewable sensation while eating the rice.  So removing the skin, the rice with mango will make a perfect taste on your chewing.


After removing the skin you will have to grate it in grater.

Carbo Hydrate  Eighteen

Protein                Point Five

Fat.                       Point Four

Vitamin               Twenty eight mg vitamin C



Benefits of Mango:



It is rich with vitamin C. It apart from cough and cold will help in better immune system.


Use of green mango helps in dehydration period.


Pregnant lady will get a perfect fruit to intake. Can avoid vomit tendency.


Teeth will be strong enough with it's calcium generator.


It is helpful in patients who are suffering from arthritis.


Vitamin C helps in maintaing the digestion level.


Now the main part of the mango rice is as you know the use of rice.



What type of rice you have to use:



Raw rice will be better for making mango rice. Ordinary daily use rice will give you better result.


You can use Biryani Rice, Basmati Rice or Goldana Rice(Jeeraga Sambha) if you like to.


Every rice has it's own taste so the mango rice you prepare will give different taste with different rice.


My recipe means to be with a lesser cost and can be included in daily use of cooking.


So I use only the rice which we use for our daily cooking.


Don't think that intake of rice will make you fatty. Fat increases according to age. 


If we eat more rice and will not burn our calories then chance of getting fat is high.


But mango rice will not be like biryani. I found as per my experience people who eat biryani from outside cook get fatty. Try to avoid eating biryani from hotel or restaurant. Not healthy one.


Now to prepare the mango rice wash the rice and drain it out with clean water. Washing will give you a polish and dust free rice.



Want to know other ingredients:



1. Mustard one spoon


2. Urad Dal one spoon


3. Chana dal one spoon


4. Red chilli two


5. Green chilli two


6. Curry leaf little


7. Ginger little


8. Turmeric powder half spoon


9. Salt to taste


Before going to prepare chop the green chilli, curry leaf and ginger.


Chop after washing the ingredients thoroughly. It was being advised since our ancient time but today due to Corona we have to be safe and careful.



Let us move to preparation:



First will have to cook the rice. The ratio of rice will be 1:2.


You can use the quantity of rice according to your head count. Suppose you are going with one cup rice then you will have to pour two cups of water.


Now cook the rice in cooker with 2 to 3 whistles.


Your rice should be cooked but not to the paste level. So be careful with the cooking of rice.


Not to worry the ratio of water and rice which I gave will be sufficient to cook for your mango rice.


Let the rice cool now. 



Final touch to your mango rice:



Heat four spoon of oil. Let it come to the level of heat where your mustard will flitter.


If it is so add mustard first. Let it flitter.


Next add urad dal and chana dal.


Add green chilli and ginger first.


Fry a little.


Now add curry leaf and red chilli.


Next add turmeric powder.


Fry a little.



Now be sure everything has been fried to create a lovely smell of curry leaf and spices.



This is the time to add mango which you have already grated.



Fry for some time you may find that the mango is ready to be mixed with the rice.



The next process is to add rice to your mango preparation to make it mango rice.



Add salt as per the quantity of rice. I think you must taste a little will have to add a little more if you find the level of sour is high.



If your mango is not so sour you can add half mango for one cup of rice.



If it is too sour then quarter of the mango to your rice.



According to sourness of the mango you add it to your rice.


If you want to add peanuts or cashew nuts to enhance in your ingredients you can add to rice by using ghee to fry the cashew nut and pea nuts.



If you want to garnish with coriander leaf you can. But mango itself will give you tasty flavour so no need to add that.



Don't ask the restaurant waiter for the mango rice, they won't have it in their menu. So make it on your own and enjoy the mango rice.
